All About Fitted Hats.
One of the newest styles out are Custom Fitted Hats. You may see someone wearing a hat you like and ask him where they got it? A custom fitted is a hat that is specially made and can’t be bought everyplace. Some are made by companies like New Era. Their 59 fifty hat seems to be the most popular. What you can do is get one say in all black. Then have your own design put on it. Then there you go! customized hat! I have seen a few web sites that make them for you and let you pick the hat style, the logo and all the colors. Some of the stuff is kind of cheesy so you need to be careful. You can pretty much create whatever you want on them. There are a few sites that will walk you through it. This is great for when you are trying to make some hats for family reunions or events. Also great for your softball or baseball teams.
Some of the nicer ones I like to collect are the alt colored sports teams. Like a green Boston Red Sox hat for Saint Patrick’s Day or the red Yankee hat. I love collecting discontinued sports teams. Such as the Washington Bullets hats, Hartford Whalers hats. These hats always start a conversation or bring up a nostalgic memory of the team. Another is Nightmare Before Christmas Custom Fitted Hat. It’s got Jack’s face on the top with his mouth overlapping the sides.
I personally like to create my own trucker hats. Trucker hats are a fun way to express yourself cost effectively. If you’re lucky you might even sell a few. These pretty much can be made at your local print shop. Anywhere at a price of 5-10 dollars a hat. Depending on how many you buy. It kind of sucks to have to buy about 100 hats. Unless you’re going to sell them. Most people don’t buy more then 12.
Collecting hats can get expensive. When I started hats where like ten to fifteen dollars in the 1990’s. Now some of them run up to 40 dollars. It’s a great hobby and I will show pictures of some of my and other peoples hats. By the way, I got a big head and wear a 7 ¼ hat!
